Are you fed up with covering your mouth when you smile? Would you love to have whiter, more attractive teeth? If so cosmetic dentistry can help you achieve the look you’d really like. There are lots of different treatments that fall under this category, and it’s really down to you as to how much or how little you choose to improve your looks.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of our most popular treatments and is highly affordable. You need to have your teeth and gums thoroughly checked to make sure you are in good dental health. This is essential as otherwise you could make any dental health issues worse, and teeth whitening treatment could be uncomfortable. We like to use a custom-tray whitening system as this allows our patients plenty of control over the process. The teeth are whitened safely over a couple of weeks but you’ll begin to notice a difference within just a few days. This system is extremely safe provided you follow our instructions to the letter.

White Fillings and Dental Bonding

If you have older style amalgam fillings then it could be worth thinking about replacing them with composite resin fillings that are exactly matched to your natural tooth colour. These fillings are virtually indiscernible from natural teeth, and eliminate dark areas that can be caused by amalgam fillings. Composite resin can also be used to reshape the teeth, and to mend small cracks and chips creating a more aesthetically pleasing appearance while conserving as much healthy tooth material as possible.

Veneers and Crowns

Dental veneers are very thin pieces of porcelain that are custom-made to exactly fit over the front of your tooth and possibly the biting edges of your teeth. They are a relatively conservative cosmetic dental treatment as very little if anything needs to be removed from the tooth surfaces. Veneers can be used to reshape teeth, to lighten the colour, and to close or minimise gaps in between teeth.

Crowns are used to restore teeth that have been damaged due to decay or trauma, returning them to full function. Modern all-ceramic crowns create incredibly natural results due to the way the light is transmitted through the crown. These all-ceramic crowns are also the perfect restoration for dental implants.
