Parrock Dental and Implant Centre is well-known for offering sophisticated cosmetic dental treatment and dental implants, but this is only part of the picture. Our Kent dentists are also interested in helping children learn why dental treatment is so important, and how to care for their teeth and gums. Preventative dental care forms the backbone of our practice, as we’d far rather prevent dental decay or gum disease than have to treat these conditions at a later date.
You’ll find Dr Rik Trivedi and all the dental team will take great care in treating younger patients. These early years of dental care could help set your children up for a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. This is something that is vitally important, as a healthy mouth increases the chances of having a healthy body.
Let Us Look after Your Children’s Teeth
If you have young children then we’d be delighted to see them for a check-up. We can also give you lots of advice on how to look after their primary or milk teeth, and how to help them build healthy dental care habits. As their adult teeth begin to erupt, you may want to protect them through having dental or fissure sealants applied.
Dental sealants have been shown to be an effective way of protecting the chewing surfaces of the back teeth against decay. They work by sealing the fissures and grooves in these teeth that can be very difficult to keep clean. The grooves can be very deep, and are especially prone towards developing cavities. They can be applied in one easy visit and should last for several years before they need renewing. Dental sealants can only be applied to teeth that don’t have any signs of dental decay, so it’s important to bring your children in to see us for this treatment as soon as their adult teeth erupt. We can also offer fluoride applications to help harden your children’s tooth enamel, offering more protection against cavities.
Our dental surgery also offers a comprehensive range of braces in Kent that can gently and effectively straighten your children’s teeth, if necessary. We offer clear aligners that are virtually invisible, and one particular system called Invisalign includes braces that have been especially developed for teenagers.
